The Farm
Lucky Field Organics was started in 2003 by Weston and Eileen Lant. With one acre of land filled with vegetables, the Lants found a great amount of interest in fresh organic vegetables on the South Coast of Massachusetts and ran two successful seasons at a local Farmer’s Market. In summer 2005 a six person CSA share program was started, and the Farmer’s Market continued successfully. Since then, the L.F.O. gardens have grown from that 1-acre field into 14 acres of cultivated fields and over 12,000 feet of greenhouse space.

Located in Rochester, Massachusetts on 47 acres of farmland and forest, L.F.O. grows a wide array of fresh vegetables and flowers using tried and true ideas from the past as well as the latest research into natural systems, plant vigor, and organic production techniques.

For the past two years Lucky Field Organics has been working together with How On Earth LLC; an organization created to help grow and support sustainable agriculture in the South Coast region of Massachusetts. Together How On Earth and Lucky Field Organics are working to increase the amount of fresh local organic produce available to the South Coast region, and the coverage is growing rapidly.

For the 2009 season we are excited to be supporting a 300 member CSA program at How On Earth in Mattapoisett, three farmer's markets and we will continue to supply local restaurants and markets with organic produce.

Also in 2009 we are offering a Flower share, a winter CSA share, and CSA Share Programs in New Bedford, Nantucket, and Cuttyhunk as well!
